Episodes

This episode of 3rd Degree the Podcast is dedicated to Christine Gardner. Rest in peace. This week on 3rd Degree the Podcast, your hosts - Peter Welpton, Dan Crooke, and Buzz Carrick - have the biggest pile of DFW soccer news to talk about, ever.  Starting with two FC Dallas losses at home of different stripes and pain. Questions have to be asked about where this thing is headed. FCD also sold Antonio Carrera and let Show Cafumana walk. And on top of that, the MLSPA salary drop happened. Now, Los Toros face the Loons! (As does North Texas SC).  Dallas Trinity fired their coach, had their President win a league award, and then dumped 9 players. Texoma hasn't lost in two months, till they got rid of an owner and then faced a USL-C team in the USL Cup. Atletico Dallas had a sweet kit drop and got their training ground approved. And the McKinney Chupacabras are getting a training ground upgrade!Music by Pappy Check.
No FC Dallas results to talk about on this week's 3rd Degree the Podcast, but your hosts - Peter Welpton, Dan Crooke, and Buzz Carrick - have two FC Dallas games to look forward to. There was a lot of other DFW soccer stuff to talk about, too. Like some images of the Farrington Field reno involving the forthcoming Fort Worth USL team leaked on YouTube. Dallas Trinity is playing Club America, and the Super League second season kicks off in two months.  Don't look now, but Texoma FC is unbeaten in 6!  North Texas SC continues its up-and-down form. And most importantly, the debut of the Wigglebutt SC merch. Music by Pappy Check.
This week on 3rd Degree the Podcast, your hosts - Peter Welpton and Buzz Carrick (Dan Crooke is on hiatus) - get to enjoy a victory pod. The disparity between FC Dallas at home and on the road is incomprehensible. Alvaro was surprisingly good, and Lletget was just as impactful as usual. Delgado and Acosta got their shine on. Pretty much everyone had a good game. Atletico Dallas, Dallas Trinity, and FC Dallas were all in the news with the Dallas City Council. AD got a Cotton Bowl lease and picked up control of MoneyGram on the side. Plus, Trinity is in the early stages of getting a training facility for themselves.  Texoma is on a 5-game unbeaten run! Could they make the playoffs? North Texas SC is in a tough patch. And lo and behold, actual direct evidence of, not only the USL men's team coming to Fort Worth that Buzz has been telling you about, but a Super League team as well. Rejoice, Panther City fans! Music by Pappy Check.
Sure, this week on 3rd Degree the Podcast, your hosts - Peter Welpton, Dan Crooke, and Buzz Carrick - will look ahead to the FC Dallas game at Sporting KC. With Urhoghide and Abubakar out, Coach Quill will have to duct tape together a defense.  But the real meat of the episode is the Atletico Dallas, Cotton Bowl, and MoneyGram Complex news. Your hosts talk about the overall impact and what that means for Atletico, both short and long-term. Plus, what might it mean for the other Fair Park tenant, Dallas Trinity? Speaking of Trinity, 3rd Degree puts a bow on their season, talks up the unbeaten in 4-straight Texoma FC, checks in on the 1st place FC Dallas U23s, and talks up the unexpected international friendly for... *checks notes* North Texas SC.  Music by Pappy Check.
This weekend on 3rd Degree the Podcast, your hosts - Peter Welpton, Dan Crooke, and Buzz Carrick - dig into a double week of FC Dallas ties and tell you why both games were total and complete stinkers and also displays of hearts and guts.  Yes, this team isn't great and is tough to watch. It has roster issues magnified by the Urhoghide injury and Abubakar red card. Plus, Endeley was recalled, and we're all worried about Pomykal.  Dallas Trinity took care of business and grabbed a playoff spot. Thoroton won the Golden Boot, Amber Brooks played every minute, and Tampa Sun is up next in the playoffs.  Also, Chupacabras drew 4k, FCD has a new U23 team under Zach Loyd, USA has some new kits, and Peter recommends a TV show.  Music by Pappy Check.
This week on 3rd Degree the Podcast, your hosts - Peter Welpton, Dan Crooke, and Buzz Carrick - have an FC Dallas 2-fer of losses to kick it off. The losses in the Open Cup in New York and league play in Seattle.  But was it bad?  Who exactly are FC Dallas? The games were so different. Do they even know? Up next, FC Cincinnati. What will we see there? Is it time for a Paxton Pomykal start?  Dallas Trinity lost but still has a good shot at the playoffs.North Texas SC has won 4 straight!Texoma FC has won 2 straight!3600 in the stands at the McKinney Chupacabras opener.Lots of news on the Atletico Dallas stadium front. And some blessed kit talk.Just loads for the DFW soccer curious. Music by Pappy Check.
This week on 3rd Degree the Podcast, your hosts - Peter Welpton, Dan Crooke, and Buzz Carrick - get the oh so fun chance to break down the Houston Dynamo loss. Ok, look. This is getting boring talking about the same problems over and over. Is there anything to build on? What's the way forward? The schedule is about to get nuts. How does Coach Quill go after the open cup at New York, then Seattle, FC Cincinnati, and Union all in a row? Trinity has 2 games left. Can they get it done? Texoma got a win!!  North Texas SC took care of Dynamo (Dos) when FCD couldn't.  Music by Pappy Check.
This week on 3rd Degree the Podcast, Paxton's back!! Your hosts - Peter Welpton, Dan Crooke, and Buzz Carrick are hyped for FCD to get its heart back. But that's not all, there was an Open Cup win and an RSL tie that felt like a loss up a man at home. The Acosta problem continues, Ramiro played right back, Garcia debuted, Kamungo struggled, the formation changed (again), Musa came back, and Abubakar played right back. What a week. The Houston Dynamo are next. Dallas Trinity fell again and is in a real slide toward missing the playoffs. North Texas SC plays Dynamo Dos.Texoma FC tied again. And some Atletico Dallas brand talk came in again.  Music by Pappy Check.
This week on 3rd Degree the Podcast, your hosts - Peter Welpton, Dan Crooke, and Buzz Carrick - were distracted from one of the epic meltdowns in FCD history with a massive new brand launch for pro soccer in the MetroPlex, Atlético Dallas.  Don't worry, you don't get out of FCD meltdown talk completely, as the trio breaks it down. Plus, FCD has two home games this week to try and turn things around, when you include the Burn's 2025 US Open Cup debut. Dallas Trinity fell in Tampa, North Texas SC won in Minnesota, and Texoma *almost* won a game.  Music by Paappy Check.
This week on 3rd Degree the Podcast, your hosts - Peter Welpton, Dan Crooke, and Buzz Carrick - get the joy of breaking down one of the best comebacks in club history. A feat that has only happened five times before.  Triggered by Coach Eric Quill's subs and the formation change, Osaze Urhoghide led his team to an epic comeback. There was so much good in this game, but it underlined the Lucho Acosta problem. Plus, Dallas Trinity rolls (and has just 1 home game left), Texoma FC fell in the Jägermeister Cup, North Texas SC won, and the USL- Dallas brand drops on Friday.  Music by Paappy Check.
