In the tense tenth episode of "Berties," the plot thickens as various characters and threads of the story converge in unexpected ways.

The episode opens with DI Wiggly arriving at Sandra's apartment, exhausted and rain-soaked. He's been tirelessly searching for clues and information about the mysterious chamber and Frank's activities. Upon entering, he realizes that someone else has been there before him, as evidenced by forced entry marks on the door. As he processes the situation, he's suddenly attacked from behind with a chair.

Meanwhile, at Highcliffe police station, Chief Superintendent Adam Kelly is struggling to piece together the puzzle of the case. He discusses the strange circumstances surrounding Bertie's fish and chip shop and the reservoir crash site with Officers Gravy and Lee. They speculate on the motives behind these events and express the urgency of finding DI Wiggly and Babs, both of whom seem to be connected to the heart of the case.

The episode then shifts its focus to Jimmy Milk, who has been held captive and tortured by Frank for the past six months. Jimmy is physically and mentally broken, enduring constant beatings and abuse from Frank. Frank sadistically offers Jimmy the illusion of freedom before subjecting him to another round of violence.

Frank, injured from the car crash, seeks refuge in an abandoned store known as GT's. He uses drugs and alcohol to numb the pain, and he issues orders to his gang members. He instructs Mimi to join him for a disturbing encounter and sends others to capture Sandra, his own sister.

As the episode comes to a close, the tension continues to build, and the characters' paths become increasingly entangled. The episode raises questions about the motives behind Frank's actions, the connections between the characters, and the web of intrigue that surrounds the case.

"Don’t Pay the Ferryman" heightens the suspense and showcases the darkness that lurks within the story's characters. The various plotlines converge, setting the stage for the upcoming developments and revelations in the series.
