Recorded in the Omniverus Studios in Winston-Salem, NCEverett, Ty, and Producer Tim discuss:
Everyone has been talking about the NCAA vs House settlement and what it means for College Athletics. That it is monumental in the history of college sports. Rece Davis said that coaches and administrators just wanted rules and just wanting to follow the rules. Um... aren't these are the same people who have been breaking the rules for the last 150 years?
In truth everything comes down to enforcement. Can anyone enforce the rules? If not, no one will follow them. If a rule is broken, and that personr or people gets fired/fined, will they sue? Are the courts going to support the College Sports Commission, because they certainly did not support the NCAA.
Murray State is in the College World Series. Is this the last year a mid-major (and that is being kind to Murray State) can make a run? Their athletic budget is $10.3 million and an article on their website says they raised another $21.5 million. If they opt into the House settlement, they would have to pay athletes $20.5 million. That is 2/3rds of their budget. Does any school that opts out have much of a chance.
Oh yeah Rodgers is officially a Steeler. How does Producer Tim feel about it?
Ty gives his thoughts about the USMNT four-match losing streak heading into the Gold Cup and the fact that most of the A-players are on vacation. Landon Donovan had some interesting comments. It seems the USMNT has had a lot of drama over the last couple of years.
