Today, we welcome Jason Schuchard to the show. Jason is the Senior Director of Marketing and Partnerships at runDallas. Since 1971, they have quite literally been running Dallas. Outside of the marquee event, the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival, runDallas hosts a magnitude of events across the DFW metroplex to streamline prioritizing health and fitness across all ages.
Throughout episode 87, Jason begins by sharing his story including his background at Texas Tech, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Dallas Mavericks. At one point, he was hit with a dilemma: Compete in an Ironman Triathlon Competition that he'd been training for, for months, or, go to Miami to see a potential championship clinching game for the Mavs. Well, you'll have to listen in for his answer.
Aside from Jason's story, the guys take a deep dive into runDallas' rich history from when the marathon was at White Rock Lake to the intricate partnerships that the organization gives back to on a consistent basis. Throughout episode 85, Kurt and the guys go down memory lane as Kurt's story is explored. From a family owned and operated restaurant in Brenham, Texas, to climbing the career ladder at Macaroni Grill to now being at the helm of Norma's Cafe. Kurt has been in the Texas restaurant industry for over 30 years and is passionate about its roots while balancing its evolution.
Kurt shared the Murph's heart behind what they do and that's how they give back to the community. While tying together North and South Dallas, they desire to serve the needs within the communities.
