Brant & Sherri on How Jesus Confronts Us But He Doesn't Leave Us There

Brant:It's kind of weird in church culture or Christianity or whatever you want to call it. A lot of times we'll talk about anything but Jesus; like everything else but Him, which is really odd. I mean, He's the reason I'm a believer. And same thing with Sherri. So we thought, Hey, let's highlight some Jesus stuff rather than just talk politics or whatever. Maybe talk about Him. So we were thinking about the top two or three things we put on our list for just Jesus moments. We really love from the gospels. So what would you put on there?Sherri:I'd put on, there's a man who is crippled and he's at a pool and an angel comes down and heals everyone at a certain time. And he's never gotten healed. He's been there for decades. And Jesus walks past his mat where he's laying, and Jesus asked him, "Do you want to be made whole?" And that is one of my favorite moments with Jesus, is the fact that He's willing to confront me, and heal me. Both. He's willing to confront the things in me that have kept me from moving forward, and He's willing to heal me.Brant:So the confrontation is him even asking the question, do what you I mean?Sherri:Yes. Where He's like, "Do you want to be made whole?" There's an implication there that there's some stuff going on in your life that hasn't gotten you to this pool where everyone else seems to be able to get to. Because He asked the guy, "Do you want to be made whole?" And the guy's like, well, every time I try to get in and then no one will put me. So He's willing to confront me in my excuses, but He doesn't leave me there. He heals me.
