In 2001 VH1 debuted the show Bands on the Run.  It was a massive hit, yet it only lasted one season...  We felt like it needed much more attention. In the wake of Flickerstick's reunion (long after Soulcracker, Harlow, and Josh Dodes threw in their towels), we have decided to break down this insanely dated time-capsule of what-the-f*ckedness and talk with other touring musicians, friends, and music journalists about what they got wrong and what they got right. For this episode Ian, Nat, and Ross STAY in Atlanta for more insanity as we approach the next elimination. You can watch every episode of the show for free on youtube HERE.  Catch up and catch the magic. If you want early access to these episodes (+ the extended version of this episode), head over to the Rigs of Dad Patreon Page where you can also hear more unedited, ad-free interviews with previous guests, patreon exclusives, and beyond! PLUS early access to other episodes.  AND billing has been paused for the month of July. Ross put out an album under the name COGENTS. It's available wherever you listen to music and highly recommended for those looking to scratch their ambient itch. Ian has some MUST LISTEN TO MUSIC over at the Interesting Times Gang Bandcamp Page. PLUS his band Kowloon Walled City will be hitting the road with Jaye Jayle next month!!! Nat and Ian have some tunes you must check out.  Keep up with all things Strangelight by Checking out their BANDCAMP page for all the details. Rad things: If you live in the bay area and you need to improve your life, book a ticket with your friends for a true rock and roll experience, and hit the road with GILLIBUS.  The only way to get around these days is making sure that getting there is half the fun. Big shout out to the homies at www.shearrevival.com Take care of yourself.  Look good, smell good, and feel good.  Treat your body and neighbor's nose with love using Shear Revival!  Use the code CLEANTONE10 to get 10% off your next order!   Huge loves to the incredible Sacha Dunable from Dunable Guitars.  The guys is building the absolute BEST axes in the game and I am a firm believer that EVERYONE needs to own one.  Check out www.dunableguitars.com if you need some real tone in your life. Facts:  Bassists are the most rqualified people in the world to talk about film, which is why Ross and Ian are once again joined by fellow bassist Mitch Wells to talk about film in another episode of Film Basics with Bassists that love film..  When it comes to cinema, they are probably the only people you should listen to, and they are going to give you a rundown of the best films of the year (so far). Rad things: Mitch's band BIG GARDEN just put out a monster of an album, and you need to click this link and listen NOW. Ross put out an album under the name COGENTS. It's available wherever you listen to music and highly recommended for those looking to scratch their weird ambient-score itch. In this very very special episode of Film Basics with Bassists That Love Film, Ross and Ian break some rules and allow a vocalist on to talk about not just movies, but what many consider to be THE movie.  We are of course talking about The Coen Brothers' "The Big Lebowski" in a very special episode called "The Rigs Lebowski"...  I really need to stop the whole pun thing.  JOINING US is none other than Jeremy Bolm of Touché Amoré and The First Ever Podcast Yes, The Big Lebowski turns 25 this month and we are spending a whole two hours waxing poetic about this poetic masterpiece. In this episode we cover all the essentials: favorite scenes, favorite quotes, what works, what doesn't, what makes a true head Lebowski fan, what is a red flag for a phony, and much more.  This is the first of many singular film deep dives, and you can of course be the first to know of this stuff via the Rigs of Dad Patreon Page Rad things: In addition to singing for an incredibly rad band, Jeremy also has an incredible podcast called The First Ever Podcast that you should really check out. Once you fall in love with The First Ever Podcast, you can support it (just like you can with ours) over at The First Ever Patreon page Ian has some MUST LISTEN TO MUSIC over at the Interesting Times Gang Bandcamp Page.
