Join us as we push beyond the chaos to pursue Christ in our everyday. Each week we talk about our personal journeys and encourage each other to live out the christian life no matter where we find ourselves.

Episodes

In this powerful episode, we dive into the story of the woman with the issue of blood from Mark 5. For 12 long years, she lived in isolation, pain, and shame. Yet, with one bold act of faith—reaching out to touch Jesus’ garment—everything changed. God didn’t just heal her physically; He saw her, acknowledged her, and restored her in every way. This story is a beautiful reminder that God sees you in the midst of your struggles. He knows your pain, and He deeply cares about your life, no matter how invisible you may feel. Join me as we explore how this woman’s story reflects God’s incredible love and compassion for each one of us. You are not forgotten—He knows your heart, and His power is at work in your life. Listen now to be encouraged and strengthened in your faith.   Connect with me at worthypursuit@yahoo.com
This week, we explore a challenging yet rewarding aspect of marriage: submission and how it is deeply tied to trusting God. We take a look at what biblical submission really means—not as a loss of independence, but as an act of faith and trust in God’s design. Submission is about honoring God’s plan for marriage and fostering a relationship built on mutual love and respect. In this episode, I offer three practical steps to help Christian women on this journey: Pray – Seek God’s wisdom and strength as you grow in love and grace. Communicate with Respect – Honest, respectful communication is key to building a healthy, God-centered marriage. Be Patient – Trust that God is working in both your heart and your marriage, and give yourself grace in the process. I hope these steps help you see submission in a new light, as part of a deeper trust in God and a stronger marriage. Email: worthypursuit@yahoo.com Follow me on Facebook or Instagram @amydspear
Hey friends! Welcome back to Worthy Pursuit Podcast! I’m Amy, and today’s episode is all about a funny and eye-opening experience I had with my dogs and their harnesses. 🐕✨ What’s This Episode About? In this episode, I’m sharing a story about the struggles and laughs from trying to get my dogs to wear their harnesses and walk on a leash obediently. It turns out that this everyday challenge has some pretty cool lessons about faith and following God’s guidance. 🌟 Here’s a sneak peek at what we’re chatting about: 🐾 The Harness Struggle: I dive into the hilarious and sometimes frustrating moments of trying to get my dogs used to their new harnesses. You know, those moments when they squirm, resist, and look at you like you’ve lost your mind. 🌟 A Spiritual Twist: I explain how this whole harness and resisting the leash situation is actually a great analogy for our own spiritual journeys and how we deal with God’s guidance. 🙏 What We Can Learn: I share how the resistance of my dogs serves as a metaphor for our relationship with God and the importance of trust in the divine plan.💡 Dog What You’ll Take Away: Obedience Is Key: Just like a harness helps keep my dogs safe, following spiritual teachings can guide us to a better path. Understanding Resistance: Sometimes we resist guidance just like my dogs resist the harness, but there’s always a bigger plan we might not see. Finding Lessons in Everyday Life: Simple moments with our pets can teach us big lessons about faith and life. Join the Conversation! Got any funny pet stories or thoughts on faith? Counting it Joy
Have you ever found it challenging to view your trials as something to rejoice over? Do you find yourself struggling to praise God during difficult times? I can relate. Personally, my instinct is to rush through life's trials, seeking a quick escape from pain and suffering. However, James chapter 1 encourages us to pause and adopt a different perspective when faced with various trials. James invites us to consider our trials as opportunities for growth and endurance. Rather than simply wishing for an immediate end to our struggles, he prompts us to embrace them with joy, knowing that they have the potential to cultivate steadfastness within us. Furthermore, James offers us hope and practical guidance as we navigate life's turbulent waters. As you tune in to today's episode, my hope and prayer are that you find renewed hope and determination to persevere through whatever season of life you may be experiencing. Let's journey together towards a deeper faith and resilience, even amidst life's challenges.   Email: worthypursuit@yahoo.com Social: https://www.instagram.com/amydspear/ https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=9617925
Loving God is often easier said than done, isn't it? John's message in 1 John emphasizes that our love for God must be reflected in how we treat others; the two are inseparable. Loving others is undeniably challenging, perhaps the most difficult aspect of living out our faith. It demands a deliberate pause to consider others' needs before our own, often requiring us to set aside our agendas to serve those around us, especially our immediate community. Despite occasional fatigue or reluctance, love compels us to remain attentive and sacrificial. If you, like me, sometimes feel overwhelmed by the weight of the word "love," I hope today's episode will provide encouragement. Even amidst the toughest circumstances, let's persevere in loving others because of our love for Jesus and our desire to obey Him.
I'm so excited to introduce my WP community to my friend Lacy Latta!  Our discussion really uplifted me, and I'm confident it'll do the same for you. She bravely expresses her apprehension about putting her trust in God as she embarks on the path He's guiding her toward, highlighting the necessity of relying on faith and persevering in obedience. I admire her honesty about grappling with depression and anxiety, acknowledging how they can impede us from fulfilling our calling, and emphasizing that obedience to God's word is truly the key to overcoming these challenges.   Here is the link to Lacy's sermon: https://open.spotify.com/episode/0jxnreF4XTg64qkr9PC2Te Lacy's church: https://agape.city/   How to contact me: email: worthypursuit@yahoo.com instagram: https://www.instagram.com/amydspear/ facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=9617925

Backwards Thinking
Just like Peter, I get it wrong a lot of the times.  One minute Peter is claiming Jesus is the Messiah and then next he is rebuking Him! Listen, if there is one thing I have learned- it is that Jesus is always right! But I have questioned Him more times than I can count. It might not have been verbally, but with every hesitation, I show my lack of trust in who He is. Understanding who Jesus is leads to how we live.  When we get this wrong, our whole thinking and attitude can be wrong!  Listen in with me today, as we read in the book of Mark and discover how Peter, one of Jesus' closest disciples, gets it wrong too.

Driving Mrs. Amy
Watch out ya'll! There’s a new driver on the road! My daughter Sally got her driving permit and let's just say we both have a lot to learn! Learning to drive has all the feels- Teaching her to drive has all the feels; excited, scared, nervous, uneasy, uncomfortable... We are in new territory trying to survive until we both feel confident she has learned what she needs to. This new stage of driving reminds me of the different stages we walk as christians. Some are in the brand new stage of being a christian, which can be exciting and scary at the same time. Some are in the comfortable stage, which can lead to routine, habits, knowing God's voice or feeling bored, out of touch or plain ol' lack luster. Some have years of a beautiful love story with Jesus and are in the "to know and be known" stage.  No matter what stage you happen to be in, we all need to be students who are willing to learn, moving us closer in our walk with the Lord. Today, we talk about 3 steps that will help us when we are feeling stuck. 1.) Admit to ourselves the stage we are in  2.) Be honest with God about that makes us feel  3.) Act our way into a new feeling to push past our fears     * Thank you for spending just a few moments of your day with me! I am honored and humbled. I would love to hear for you if you are so inclined. You can email me at worthypursuit@yahoo.com * Could you take a few minutes and leave a 5 star review so others can have to opportunity to hear this podcast? It would help so much!
Do you ever give up to soon in your prayer life?  We all know that God knows our every need, even before we ask it. So why even ask? Won't He give it to me if He really wants to? Prayer does a lot more than give us what we want or act as some wish list at Christmas time. Prayer has the ability to change our hearts and steer us in a whole new life direction.  But what if we give up on a prayer to soon?  Today, let's talk about being persistant. I mean, annoying persistance!! Using Matthew 7, we are encouraged to continue asking until one of two things happens: 1) God grants us what we ask for or 2) God changes our hearts to ask for something different.
