Angus to the Fore - The Podcast is a podcast hosted by a group of teenagers who are aiming to promote the Angus breed as part of their entry to the Certified Irish Angus Schools Competition. They talk to experts in the different fields of producing top-quality Angus herds!

On this week's episode, Eoin chats with former Irish rugby captain and Angus breeder Rory Best. They chat about Rory's career in rugby with Ireland and Ulster, growing up on a farm, the highs and lows of sport, the Angus breed, Rory's Aberdeen Angus herd, his predictions for this year's six nations and much more. On the latest episode of the Angus to the Fore podcast, we interviewed Stephen Connolly, Sustainability manager with ABP.In this months interview Eoin asks about Stephen’s early days in farming, ABP, Angus genetics, meat eating quality, measuring emissions, grassland management, the ABP demo farm in Carlow, improving dairy beef genetics nationally and much more.We were announced as one of five finalists in the Certified Irish Angus schools competition in April and we will soon be bringing home our five Irish Angus calves and rear them for 18 months alongside our research project.We will receive our calves at the National Ploughing Championships in Ratheniska, Co. Laois this week, 19th - 21st September. Tiktoker and RTÉ presenter Mary-Claire Fitzpatrick will present ownership of the calves on the Wednesday. The private event will be attended by special guests, our proud families and other invited people. We will be at the stand with the calves for the duration of the event and we are really looking forward to meeting you, our listeners, next week.The Certified Irish Angus stand is located in the livestock area, Row 6 Block 4, Stand no. 108.Stay tuned for news and updates from the Ploughing in the news section of our website.
