INTERVIEW: You know Ron Marz. We know Ron Marz. So what's Ron Marz talking about for his fourth appearance on this podcast? Oh, just a little mini-series called Silver Surfer Rebirth: Legacy! That's right, the Rebirth Trilogy concludes with another cosmic tale by Rons Marz and Lim, this time focusing on Legacy (Genis-Vell), son of the original Captain Marvel. While Ron Lim couldn't make this session, Marz certainly holds his own, answering all of our intrusive questions about Legacy, the new story, how it fits in with the previous series, and why the writer could care less about Nega Bands or Quantum Bands. It's a rollicking good time as always, so strap in and take a listen, Banditos! You can find Ron Marz on all the usual socials by searching for his name._____________________Dollar Bin Bandits is the official podcast of TwoMorrows Publishing. If you're not already familiar with his work (really?!), start with Nexus, the long-recurring scifi series he created with writer Mike Baron in the early 80s. That masterpiece should be enough, but he also did quite a bit of work for the big two, including World's Finest, The Incredible Hulk vs. Superman, X-Men: Children of the Atom, and Captain America: What Price Glory. Steve continues to churn out art, both illustrations and painting, and promises that more Nexus is on the way!You can follow Steve on his website, steverude.com, as well as all the major socials, including @steverrudethedude on Instagram._____________________Dollar Bin Bandits is the official podcast of TwoMorrows Publishing. INTERVIEW: Equal parts artist and writer, Phil Hester has been doing the comic book thing for 30 years now! He broke into the mainstream via his work with Kevin Smith on an adaptation of the film Clerks. That connection got him noticed in the DC offices, and soon it was off to the races, penciling Swamp Thing and more. Phil's art is perhaps best known from a long run on Green Arrow, where he collaborated with A-list writers like Smith, Brad Meltzer, and Judd Winick. More interesting work followed, including Irredeemable Ant-Man (with Robert Kirkman), El Diablo, and Green Hornet. He even moved into writing, taking over for J. Michael Straczynski on Wonder Woman. And Phil has a humongous collection of original art! You can follow Phil on Facebook and X (@philhester). _____________________If you like this podcast, please rate, review, and subscribe on Apple Podcasts. INTERVIEW: Like many of his peers coming up in comics in late 80s across the pond, Mike Collins fell in with the Marvel UK crew, drawing the likes of Spider-Man, Transformers, Doctor Who and Zoids. Of course, no UK comics career is complete without work on 2000 A.D., so you'll find his work there too. But things really took off when Mike moved to the US in the 90s, where he tackled many of DC's heavy hitters, like Superman, Batman, Teen Titans and Justice League. He only did a bit more work for Marvel (such as on Gambit's first appearance in Uncanny X-Men) but made a name for himself doing tie-in comics for TV and movie projects. Mike has also worked as a storyboard artist and currently contributes to Doctor Who Magazine. _____________________Dollar Bin Bandits is the official podcast of TwoMorrows Publishing. Yes, THE Roger Stern! It took months of work to get this storytelling master to sit down for an interview, and we hope you agree that it was worth it. We dug into as much of his career as we could, starting with the fanzine CPL with Bob Layton, moving through the Charlton Bullseye, and on to his big break as editor and then writer at Marvel. And that's only the first 10 minutes! Of course, we had to get to Captain America, Incredible Hulk, Avengers (original and West Coast varieties), and the Amazing Spider-Man, including co-creating Hobgoblin with JRJR. Next we take another swing through the Triangle Era of Superman, including Death of Superman and Reign of the Supermen. Finally, we end on his later Marvel collaborations with Kurt Busiek on Iron Man and Avengers Forever. It's a wild ride, Banditos! Hope you enjoy._____________________Dollar Bin Bandits is the official podcast of TwoMorrows Publishing.
