Justice MEEPLACED By Revenge.Twenty years ago Ringworm released a pivotal album in their career. With primary songwriter and Meepster Frank "3-Gun" Novenic joining Terror full time (and eventually Hatebreed), his time he could dedicate to Ringworm was thin and that led guitarist Matt Sorg to step up and take the reins, which he has white knuckled ever since and led Ringworm to previously unthrashed territories but it all starts here.Vocalist Human Furnace and Matt talk about this transitional album, recruiting CJ Klemonski from Death Threat to help finish the job, making their first music video, Jacob Bannon's stunning album artwork, Ben Schigel from Sw1tched recording this effort, and so much more! But isn't that enough?
NOTHING MEEPMAINS...Almost works. It's the 20th anniversary of Chimaira's self-titled 2005 album and we got half the band to tell us all about it.Ohio's finest were coming off the strength of their 2003 breakout "The Impossibility of Reason" and would lean into a much more metal sound with longer songs, bigger solos, and more technical riffage. This would also be their last effort on Roadrunner and their only record with drummer Kevin Talley. How did it all come together? How did it all fall apart? What was on Kevin's video camera? All this and nothing else on this 100th episode anniversary edition of Meep Meep.
Episode 100.This is a show about albums released on Roadrunner Records so who better for episode 100 than the best selling band in the history of the label - Nickelback.Bassist Michael Kroeger joins us to discuss their 2003 album The Long Road which was sandwiched between their insane breakthrough Silver Side Up (2001) and the diamond selling All The Right Reasons (2005).In addition to making that record, Mike tells us about his love for heavy music including many Roadrunner alumni, Ross Robinson producing Nickelback, Terry Date mixing them, WWE themes, Roadrunner United, and so much more!
MEEPER SEEDS.Too Easy.Sometimes albums are made for Roadrunner... and not released?HUH?! WHAT'S THAT MEAN?!In the mid 2000s the label was going through a boom and signing lots of bands since Roadrunner had recently been caught by the coyote that was Island Def Jam essentially making the bird a major label with that major label money and a huge mainstream hit with Nickelback. In 2003, Ether Seeds, was set to release their self titled debut album on Roadrunner Records. The Seeds were a band fronted by Dustin Lowery who was then and still is now brothers to Clint Lowery of Sevendust fame and Corey Lowery who is currently in Seether but did time in Stuck Mojo, Stereomud and others. The band were signed to the label, recorded the album, and weeks before it was set to release... were dropped! And the album never came out. They weren't the only band on Roadrunner or in the music industry to suffer that fate by any means but certainly one of the more head scratching with not only a strong pedigree but a great record behind it!Dustin was generous enough to tell us the story of the band's entire life on this episode and while you know the ending, the episodes in between are pretty fascinating. So save your own life... and listen now!!!www.Patreon.com/MeepMeepPod
