The Beauty Ritual Podcast is about the intersection of age, beauty and identity in the 21st century. This podcast was inspired by the last decade I spent behind the chair watching clients contemplate their lives and their relationships with themselves. Beauty trends come and go but what remains constant is our desire to know ourselves. The Beauty Ritual podcast is for people who sit down in the salon chair, look in the mirror and think, "What am I trying to do here?"

Having grey hair in your 20's in 1990 vs. 2024 reflects significant changes in social attitudes and beauty standards. For so long going grey as a young person was seen as undesirable and even unusual. The rise in the "silver hair" trend, where people intentionally dye their hair grey or silver, not to mention public figures proudly sporting grey hair has created a culture where it is less stigmatized. Who better to explore this broader embrace of natural beauty than someone who has lived through it? Chelsea Aguilar a beautiful model of this stunning hair type gets candid about the journey toward self acceptance.Follow Chelsea on Instagram @chelseaaguilarBeauty evolves. What do breakups and botox have to do with each other? Breakups can sometimes leave people feeling self conscious about their looks, especially if they are re-entering the dating scene. Opting for botox or skin treatments (and yes sometimes bangs) can be seen as a commitment to self care and self improvement. We are not always reminded that botox (or bangs) something from the outside, can't fix unhappiness with our inner self selves. Inner beauty is getting in touch with our inner self first creating a beauty mindset and getting into cosmetic artistry after that. It's important to note that the relationship between purpose and appearance is highly subjective.  Kelly Gilbert knows best that this can vary significantly from person to person. Growing up in Los Angeles and a successful career working alongside companies such as Disney and BeachBody have informed so much of how Kelly relates to these subjects. Speaking from personal experience we explore how we use our appearance as a way of communicating our identity, values and goals.  Or how we can see our appearance as a completely separate aspect of our lives to that of purpose. Ultimately the connection between purpose and appearance is complex but could it be a way to navigate a world that is more and more obsessed with how you look?Beauty evolves. So do we.
