How does an individual begin to give more effort in their walks with God?We all know that we should prioritize our walks with God, but it can go to the back burner many times. How does an individual begin to change that? We look at the life of Bartimaeus to give us some guidance. Why was he willing to give the best of himself, even though others were trying to stop him? As always, we appreciate you listening. If you have any prayer requests or questions, we would love to hear from you at theservingchurchdallas@gmail.com. Hosted on Acast. How does an individual find their purpose? This is one of the most important questions a person engages with, but so few are able to articulate it. We look at the life of Daniel and consider how he fulfilled his purpose, looking at the story of Daniel and the lions den. We consider what it means for us in our search of our purpose. As always, we appreciate you tuning in and we hope that the message speaks to you. Are you willing to die on that hill? This is a simple question but it shows conviction. Which hill are you ready to die on? We consider this as we look at the aim of our church. What do we want to stand for? As we answer this question, you get a sense of the heart of our church. Our prayer is that there are more who are eager to die on that hill as well. As always, thanks for engaging, and let us know if there's anything else we can do to support you in your journey. #theservingchurchdallas Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
How do we find our aim better? To know your aim will help you not only solve a math problem easier, but it gives you focus in life. Our aims and our values go hand in hand, so consider what your values you. We look at the life of Peter walking on the water to consider his values and how it impacted his aim. As always, we appreciate you listening and if you have any questions or prayer requests, please let us know at theservingchurchdallas@gmail.com Hosted on Acast. One of the cultural components of our church is to be as a family. A family is the basic building block of society, so how do we grow that unit so that we are stronger and more unified? As we see in Acts, an open church is a church that grows as a family. After the Holy Spirit moved, there was an openness with their lives to each other. This is in direct contrast to the hiddenness in our churches today. To reach a new move of God, we will need to be fully open with God and fully open with those in our lives so God can give us deliverance and breakthrough. Authority is the right of a believer. There once was a time when believers walked in authority, casting out demons, healing the sick and raising the dead. Much of that is gone today. So how do we grow in authority? We look at the life of Jesus and consider how more authority was granted to Him as seen in Philippians 2:5-11. The message may not be easy, but our prayer is that God gives us the grace to live it out daily. We are at a time when church is about us. What if we considered what we could do to strengthen the church that we are at. When we ask this question, it changes our perspective from a self-centered point of view to a God-centered and others-centered point of view. We look at 1 Corinthians 12:12-14 to consider what we can do to strengthen the church. What is death and what is hades and why is understanding that important? In Revelation1:18, Jesus says that he holds the keys of death and Hades. What does that mean? This week, we looks at why Jesus had to die as a human and the significance for all people. Verses like these unite scripture together from the first command of God to his coming, so although it may seem like a basic idea of scripture, it is foundational and adds confidence for the believer.Link to sermon notes: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1UcKpVZ4iu8emKKgqUAPg9fMx0WU12eHL/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=109910308557783119284&rtpof=true&sd=true As always, thanks for tuning in. We continue answering the question of how we find our giftThis week, we continue in 1 Corinthians 12 and consider what it means that our gift is meant for the "common good." As we consider this, we look at how we can live a life for the "common good" rather than our own good. As always, if you have questions or comments, we would love to hear from you at theservingchurchdallas@gmail.com#theservingchurchdallas Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
How do I find what I am meant to give? How do I find my gift?We know God has called each of us for a unique calling, but how do I find my specific calling? Is there such a thing and if so, how do I find it? Mark Twain said the two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you figure out why. We look at what Paul has to say about this in 1 Corinthians 12 and consider the giver of the gifts.
