Imam Adnan Rokadia is the Founder and Executive Director of Nafahat, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building community centered around spiritual practice. He also serves as the imam of Moslem Mosque Inc., the oldest continually operating mosque in New York, where he leads congregants in prayer and supports them in life-cycle rituals. Adnan has previously served as a Muslim chaplain at Stony Brook University, where he helped students navigate their faith on campus through education and spiritual counseling. He now continues his college chaplaincy work at Pratt Institute, where he serves their growing Muslim student community. In his professional life, Adnan has also worked within local state government, Muslim nonprofit organizations, and the nonprofit tech industry.

Ustadh Amjad Tarsin was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He obtained his Bachelors of Arts at the University of Michigan in English Literature and Islamic Studies.
After completing his BA, Amjad spent an intensive year studying at the illustrious Dar al-Mustafa for Islamic Sciences in Tarim, Yemen. He then enrolled at Hartford Seminary’s Islamic Chaplaincy program where he completed his Master’s Degree.
He previously served as the Executive Director and Head Chaplain of the Muslim Chaplaincy at the University of Toronto, becoming Canada’s first full-time Muslim Chaplain at a university in September 2012. In addition to his administrative duties and leadership responsibilities, he counselled and taught students.
Ustadh Amjad currently is a faculty member at Al-Maqasid, and he also teaches for SeekersGuidance Online Islamic Seminary.

Dr. Sheikh Faiyaz Jaffer is the Research Scholar for the Islamic Center at New York University and an Associate Chaplain for the Center of Global & Spiritual Life at NYU. In addition, he is currently a doctoral candidate at NYU Steinhardt’s School of Education. Sheikh Faiyaz attained an MA degree in Islamic Studies (UK), with a concentration on early Islamic history, after his undergraduate degree from SUNY Stony Brook University in Political Science and Religious Studies. He has had his research published by academic journals. In pursuing the classical course of Islamic education, Faiyaz studied in the Seminary of Karbala, Iraq, one of the most prominent centers for Islamic learning.
