The migration of Paul’s theology is often framed as “from Saul to Paul” but we find out that there is a dramatic migration in Paul’s theology even after his encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus. This episode explores the way that the early church disregarded the authority of the written word in favor of the Living Word and this is the pattern that the modern church follow. If you have questions, please send an email to:yeahbut@originalgoodness.mediawww.originalgoodness.mediaSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/dogmatically-imperfect/donations
We have been taught that Jesus died so that our sins could be forgiven, but Jesus forgave people before dying on the cross! How could Jesus forgive sins before he died on the cross??This is an excellent theological question that we will address on today’s episode.(If you wanna skip right to the meat… please jump to 9:45)If you have questions, please send an email to:yeahbut@originalgoodness.mediawww.originalgoodness.mediaSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/dogmatically-imperfect/donations
As Christians, we like to think that the center of our faith is Christ…but it really isn’t. The center of our faith that everything else revolves around is Hell. All of our efforts are tailored to avoid Hell or try to help others avoid Hell. Is this something that carried over from the Old Covenant or is it unique to the New Covenant? Maybe it isn’t part of either…today’s episode tackles this controversial topic. If you have questions, please send an email to:yeahbut@originalgoodness.mediawww.originalgoodness.mediahttps://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/feb/03/john-chau-christian-missionary-death-sentineleseSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/dogmatically-imperfect/donations
When we consider the complexity of Creation and how our understanding of Creation has improved since the time of the biblical record, it stands to reason that our understanding of God should improve on a parallel trajectory. And when we violate this Wisdom it is easy to see how Chaos has had its way for several thousand Us/Them years.Embrace Wisdom and find out what the actual universal language of God is in this episode. If you have questions, please send an email to:yeahbut@originalgoodness.mediawww.originalgoodness.mediaMathematician Explains Infinity in 5 Levels of Difficultyhttps://youtu.be/Vp570S6Plt8Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/dogmatically-imperfect/donations
Modern Christianity has stolen Christ from the world and made Christ exclusive to themselves. In doing so, we forget that Jesus said he came to save humanity, not destroy it. He cam to bring life more abundant, not steal, kill, destroy.  What parts of our old dogma do we need to shed to see what God sees? Find out in this episode. If you have questions, please send an email to:yeahbut@originalgoodness.mediawww.originalgoodness.mediaSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/dogmatically-imperfect/donations
Did you know that the New Testament is actually a record of people becoming heretics? Maybe you never thought about it that way. This episode shows the progression of heretical thinking after Jesus ascended to heaven.  At the same time, it shows how biblical church leaders were actually stuck in some very non-heretical practices. So much so that our church practices today are far outside the bounds of accepted church policy of the biblical era.So just like the early church, we follow the biblical heretical pattern beyond what was accepted practice of the time. Yes, you already engage in things the biblical writers would consider heretical. To find out why you are a heretic, watch this video. Oh yeah…don’t forget to subscribe! Jesus had a way of making the religious leaders of his time very upset with him. The religious experts were very protective of the written word and sought to keep Israel pure according to what was written. How could the very Son of God find himself on the outs with those who were supposed to know God best? How could Jesus become, the Original Heretic? This episode paints a picture of how the Discarded Doctrines of Jesus put him at odds with religious experts. How would current religious experts view Jesus today?yeahbut@originalgoodness.mediawww.OriginalGoodness.mediaSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/dogmatically-imperfect/donations
Traditionally, Christians are taught that God is on our side and if you are opposed to “Us” then you are also opposed to God. But what happens when we see God in relationship with the “Them”?  This episode explores God’s relationship with those we do not consider to be part of the in group. The “Them” are found throughout the scriptures, especially in the Old Testament. How does this align with the Discarded Doctrines of Jesus?Find out in today’s episode.yeahbut@originalgoodness.mediawww.OriginalGoodness.mediaSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/dogmatically-imperfect/donations
Episode 1 of Dogmatically Imperfect takes an important look at the things that Jesus taught in contrast to what was traditionally understood from the teaching of the Law and the Prophets. In addition, we look at the doctrines of Jesus apart from the understanding of Grace by Faith which is a concept that was introduced by Paul and the Apostles. When we look at the discarded doctrines of Jesus, we get a very different view of the path to eternal life and the way we should live with our horizontal relationships as our focus, not our vertical relationship with God.yeahbut@originalgoodness.mediaoriginalgoodness.mediaSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/dogmatically-imperfect/donations
Greetings!! You have found Dogmatically Imperfect. A new series that explores what happens when the reality of our human experience does not match the expectations given by our different religious teachings. Reconciling the difference between our belief system, our reality, and the example of God in the earth is a task that challenges each one of us in our own specific way. This series will address the question of who is really in good standing with God. We will also look at how differences in dogmatic belief systems actually speak to a greater truth that transcends our individual religious outlook. When we look at the complexity of creation, from the smallest of subatomic particles to the expansion of the infinite cosmos and all that is contained in the cosmos, we must arrive at a conclusion that is actually contrary to modern religious belief systems and more in line with the idea of Paul the Apostle, "we know in part". 1 Cor 13:9-12This introductory episode is an introduction to the expectations given by an evangelical religious system, specifically related to healing, that did not align with reality and how this irreconcilable difference was the thread leading to a greater understanding of Paul the Apostle and the larger image of God that sprang from his encounter with God and grew over time in his writings. "There is only one God." Rom 3:29, 30.I invite you to join me on this journey.Sincerely,Justin MarsonSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/dogmatically-imperfect/donations
