Those of you who've been around in the indie author and writing community for a while are going to be familiar with this week's podcast guest. Sometimes, life throws a few curve balls our way. That was certainly the case for this week's Author Revolution Podcast guest - and I'm sure you can relate when you hear her story. In today's show, I'm talking with USAT Bestselling Author, Carlyle Labuschagne about having her author platform stolen and the loss of her mother - and specifically, what that did to her ability to write. If you're in a state of grief, or upset, it's hard to get into the creative flow. So, this episode is for you. Have a listen. One of the biggest takeaways I had from the latest round of conferences was that I wanted to test out selling direct - and in specific, using Shopify as my bookstore. Over the past few weeks, I've been prepping and building out my new Shopify store and I'm in love. So, with that in mind, in today's podcast episode, I'm talking about my experience transitioning my website to a Shopify store. What's been working, what's been a pain... as well as why I think indie authors really need to start considering this as their next viable step toward INDIEpendence. Have a listen! Some author conferences are incredible. If you caught my recap of Inkers Con 2023, you already know this was an EPIC conference. But what's great is that they have an even bigger digital conference! So, if you've been wondering which author conferences are worth it, or if a digital conference like Inkers Con could be amazing, you're going to love this interview! In today's podcast episode, I'm speaking with Alessandra Torre about the Inkers Con Digital experience, which starts July 22nd, 2023! Have a listen! Sometimes we say we want something, but our energy and actions aren't in alignment with that. Call it an upper limit or a block, if you want. What I see is a failure to get your energy behind it. And that's an easy fix. In today's podcast episode, I'm talking about how we can get our energy behind our desires so we stop going in circles and start making strides. If you've been struggling with the same patterns and you're ready to break free, you'll want to listen to this episode! Few promo sites offer as much value and innovation in the indie author space as Written Word Media. In the past year, they've added tons of new value to authors looking to expand their reach. In today's podcast episode, I'm speaking with Clayton Noblit from Written Word Media about 2023 author trends and the new offerings they have for indie authors. You won't want to miss this one! Now that all of the 2023 writers' conferences I planned on attending are over, there's a bit of melancholy setting in. To shake it off, I've been revisiting the speeches I gave and all of the experiences I've gone through. It occurred to me that since the Idaho Writers Guild Conference wasn't recorded, my first speech at that conference might be the perfect thing to lift us all up. In today's podcast episode, I'm sharing my Aspire For More speech I gave at the Idaho Writer's Guild Conference in May 2023. Because this conference wasn't recorded, I wanted another way for this message to reach our indie author community. Listen now! Indie authors have so many opportunities to reach readers. This year alone has opened up a ton! One of the latest is Kobo Plus finally entering the US market! We discuss Kobo Plus and the new geos, the new e-readers they have available, and the reading experience that makes me want to buy one ASAP. Click here to listen! This year has been an epic one as an author. Within a month, I've had the privilege of speaking at not one--but TWO incredible conferences! In today's podcast episode, I'm recapping what went on at the 2023 Inkers Con in Dallas, Texas June 9-11th, 2023. This conference was truly an experience, so if you're thinking about going to an author conference, you're going to want to hear about this one!
